Baseball Recap: Brookline Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Brookline's offense. They lost 7-0 to the Newton North Tigers on Monday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Brookline got a good showing from Kyu Miller, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Brookline saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Hoffman, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Hoffman hit this season.

Brookline's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Newton North, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookline will welcome Framingham at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newton North, they will square off against Braintree at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
