Basketball Game Preview: Avalon Eagles vs. Bynum Bulldogs

Avalon has won five straight games at home, while Bynum has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Avalon Eagles will welcome the Bynum Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Avalon will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Covington, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Avalon came out on top against Covington by a score of 45-37 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Bynum was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Morgan 70-23. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

Avalon better focus on containing Colin Poole and Joshua Castro as the pair were huge in Bynum's win. Poole dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Castro posted ten points along with seven steals and six assists. Castro is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Collins, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 15 points and five assists.

Bynum smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Avalon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Bynum, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
