Football Recap: Eagle River Falls Despite Big Games from Mac Steeves and David Shipley

If Eagle River was riding high fresh off their 42-0 takedown of Barrow last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolves took a 44-27 bruising from the Soldotna Stars on Friday. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Stars from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Eagle River's loss came despite strong showings from David Shipley and Mac Steeves. Shipley picked up 105 receiving yards and one score, while Steeves threw for 170 yards and one TD. Shipley showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 50 yards.

Eagle River's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Soldotna, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
