Recap: Springdale Dynamos vs. Clairton Bears
It was a good run, but the Springdale Dynamos unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 69-56 to Clairton. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Springdale came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Clairton is ranked 319th).
Clairton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taris Wooding, who scored 21 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wooding has scored at least 25% of Clairton's points. Another player making a difference was DaShawn Hines, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Springdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Clairton, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Springdale will head out on the road to face off against California at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully California focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday. Clairton will be home for the holidays to greet Neighborhood Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
