Football Game Preview: Llano Yellowjackets vs. Marion Bulldogs

Two dominant signal callers in Luke Davis and Kade Pape are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Llano Yellowjackets will challenge the Marion Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Llano barely beat Randolph the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Ro-Hawks 35-0. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 32 points or more this season.

Jose Sillas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 78 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Cash Lynch did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 106 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Marion unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ingram Moore. While the Bulldogs had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Warriors 14-7.

Llano will have to contain Tanner Otis as he made an impact in Marion's last game. He rushed for 210 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Marion is 4-1 when Otis posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

The victory (which was Llano's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.8 points on average over those games. As for Marion, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Llano took their victory against Marion in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 38-12 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bulldogs' Christian Sanchez, who rushed for 89 yards and a pair of TDs.
