Soccer Game Preview: Downtown Doral vs. MAST Academy

The Downtown Doral Dolphins will take on the MAST Academy Makos at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Downtown Doral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Downtown Doral is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Booker T. Washington onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The result kept the Dolphins happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 17, 2024.

Carolina Gonzalez was the driving force of Downtown Doral's attack as she scored both of Downtown Doral's goals, bringing her season total up to 25 goals.

Meanwhile, MAST Academy won against Southwest last Thursday with eight goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. MAST Academy blew past JC Bermudez Doral 8-0. Considering the Makos have won nine matches by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

MAST Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those ten games. As for Downtown Doral, their win bumped their record up to 11-6-2.

Downtown Doral might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from MAST Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Downtown Doral avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
