Volleyball Recap: Essex Tech Takes a Loss

Essex Tech entered their match against Arlington on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hawks lost 3-0 to the Spy Ponders.

While Essex Tech was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Arlington's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-21.

Dylan Krueger paced Essex Tech's offense, picking up 12 kills. Krueger got some help from Barrett Cross and his 23 assists. Charlie Reed controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Arlington was led to victory by Pablo Diaz-Terra and Liam Leclercq. Diaz-Terra had six digs and two aces, while Leclercq had 13 assists and two aces. Caleb Blaquiere also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Essex Tech suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 5-2. As for Arlington, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Essex Tech has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Andover on the 25th. As for Arlington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Billerica Memorial on the 25th.
