Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Alleman couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newman Central Catholic Comets on Saturday. The Pioneers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jackson Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam VanMeighem, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Alleman's defeat dropped their record down to 27-10. As for Newman Central Catholic, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 24-7-1 record.

As of now, neither Alleman nor the Comets have any future games scheduled.
