Baseball Game Preview: Portola Bulldogs vs. St. Margaret's Tartans

The Portola Bulldogs will face off against the St. Margaret's Tartans at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Portola is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Beckman just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 5-1 to the Patriots.

Portola saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yoshi Tsuge, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base. Tsuge has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, St. Margaret's was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to University. The game marked the first time this year in which the Tartans were not able to get on the board.

Portola's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for St. Margaret's, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Portola beat St. Margaret's 5-1 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Portola have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Margaret's turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
