Football Recap: Rye Wins Going Away Against Eastchester

The matchup between Rye and Eastchester on Friday hardly resembled the 14-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Garnets put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 48-23 win. The victory continues a trend for the Garnets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Carson Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 321 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 81 yards on only seven carries. Those six passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Henry Shoemaker was another key player, picking up 145 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Rye's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Eastchester, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Rye didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-14 victory against Nyack on the 17th. As for Eastchester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 39-29 win against Clarkstown North on the 17th.
