Soccer Game Preview: Oregon City vs. Lake Oswego

For the first time this season, Oregon City will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Lake Oswego Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oregon City's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, Oregon City came up short against Nelson and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Oswego). They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over David Douglas on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Lake Oswego needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Oregon City's loss dropped their record down to 1-7-1. As for Lake Oswego, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3-4.

Oregon City beat Lake Oswego 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
