Football Game Preview: Piedmont Wildcats vs. Choctaw Yellowjackets

Piedmont is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Choctaw Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Neither Piedmont nor Choctaw posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Piedmont faced off against Norman on Friday. The Wildcats were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 37-7. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Meanwhile, Choctaw faced Bixby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Yellowjackets were beaten by the Spartans 57-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered since September 20, 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Choctaw and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Piedmont, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Piedmont ended up a good deal behind Choctaw when the teams last played back in September of 2024, losing 56-40. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
