Baseball Recap: Crosshill Christian Comes Up Short

Crosshill Christian entered their match against Culver on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles fell 9-6 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 on Tuesday.

Tayden Isaacson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Isaacson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Johan Phillips made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Caiden Baker also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Crosshill Christian and nudges their season record down to 6-2. As for Culver, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 8-2-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crosshill Christian will square off against Regis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Culver, they will challenge Mohawk at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
