Basketball Preview: Rock Creek Christian Academy Eagles vs. Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors
The Rock Creek Christian Academy Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Creek Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Rock Creek Christian Academy strolled past the Cardinals with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. The win was all the more spectacular given Rock Creek Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 37th in Maryland, while the Cardinals are ranked fourth in Virginia).
It was another big night for Corwin Holland II, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. Jeremiah Barnes was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Mt. Zion Prep Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Springdale Prep with a sharp 86-66 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rock Creek Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 23-11.
Rock Creek Christian Academy came up short against the Warriors when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 55-47. Can Rock Creek Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
