Basketball Recap: Dylan Jawei Lee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead American over Irvington

It was fun while it lasted, but American's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Tuesday. They fell 65-54 to the Irvington Vikings. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

American's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan JaWei Lee, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The game was Lee's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arman Mahavni, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, American fell to 3-1. As for Irvington, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

American will be taking part in a tournament against Los Altos at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. American is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. As for Irvington, they will take on Alhambra in a tournament on Friday.
