Baseball Game Preview: La Jolla Country Day Torreys vs. Santa Fe Christian Eagles

For the first time this season, La Jolla Country Day will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Santa Fe Christian Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. La Jolla Country Day is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for La Jolla Country Day's offense. They came up short against Etiwanda on Thursday, falling 11-0.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe Christian didn't have quite enough to beat El Camino on Thursday and fell 6-5.

Santa Fe Christian got a good showing from Kylan Brunn, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Brunn has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Santa Fe Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Roche, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Jackson Noonan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Santa Fe Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for La Jolla Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

La Jolla Country Day couldn't quite get it done against Santa Fe Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 12-7. Can the Torreys avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
