Football Game Preview: St. Patrick's Academy Wolfhounds vs. North Toole County Refiners

The St. Patrick's Academy Wolfhounds will venture away from home to face off against the North Toole County Refiners at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Patrick's Academy has given up an average of 44.4 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Saturday, St. Patrick's Academy was beaten by Big Sandy 57-8. The Wolfhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, North Toole County took a blow against Chester-Joplin-Inverness on Saturday, falling 57-19. While losing is never fun, the Refiners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana football rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Hawks are ranked sixth).

Despite the defeat, North Toole County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Erica 'Showtime' Rice threw for 999 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Rice is crushing it when it comes to passing yards: he's passed for at least 730 every time he's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Toole County fell to 5-1. As for St. Patrick's Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything went St. Patrick's Academy's way against North Toole County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, as St. Patrick's Academy made off with a 66-44 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfhounds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
