Soccer Game Preview: Seven Lakes vs. Tompkins

The Seven Lakes Spartans will face off against the Tompkins Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tompkins better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Seven Lakes really get things going. Seven Lakes' defense stepped up to hand Paetow a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Spartans' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Tompkins put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Cinco Ranch. The Falcons' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Tompkins' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five games. As for Seven Lakes, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.

Seven Lakes came out on top in a nail-biter against Tompkins when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does Seven Lakes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tompkins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
