Volleyball Recap: Discovery Charter School Comes Up Short

Discovery Charter School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions.

While Discovery Charter School was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Excelsior Classical Academy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 27-25.

Excelsior Classical Academy was led to victory by Stephanie Llanas Tavera and Haley Carroll. Llanas Tavera had 15 digs, five aces, and one block, while Carroll had 17 digs and four aces. Those 17 digs gave Carroll a new career-high.

Discovery Charter School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Discovery Charter School has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Carolina Friends on the 21st. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Southern Wake Academy on the 22nd.
