Anna Faith Brunk and Callie Paradzinski secure win for Blue Ridge Christian

Recap: Blue Ridge Christian Bears vs. Regents Lions

The Blue Ridge Christian Bears put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Regents by a score of 45-34. Given Blue Ridge Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Regents is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Blue Ridge Christian to victory were Anna Faith Brunk and Callie Paradzinski. Brunk scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Paradzinski scored 24 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Brunk scored 15 or more points.

Despite the loss, Regents saw an underclassman step up: Kaileen Harlow scored 23 points. That was a full 67.6% of Regents' points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Keely McReynolds, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.

Blue Ridge Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Regents, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Blue Ridge Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Christian Heritage Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. Christian Heritage Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Regents, they will head out on the road to square off against Grace Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Grace Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
