Softball Recap: St. Vincent's Saints vs. Swainsboro Tigers        
        
		
             St. Vincent was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight  loss. They took  an  8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Swainsboro Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the  7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September.
  Loki Thompson spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned  (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 16 Ks. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  strikeouts.
 At the plate,  Ansley Cox was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  hits.
 Even though they lost, St. Vincent's  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 16  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 St. Vincent's loss dropped their record down to 3-14-1. As for Swainsboro,  the  victory snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 9-10 record.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Vincent's will venture away from home to  take on Toombs County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Swainsboro, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Vidalia  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Vidalia will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something Swainsboro surely won't give up without a fight.
