Volleyball Game Preview: Cumberland Valley Eagles vs. Central Dauphin Rams

Cumberland Valley has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Central Dauphin has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Rams at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Cumberland Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: Exeter Township, who was ranked 12th at the time (Cumberland Valley was ranked first). Cumberland Valley put the hurt on Exeter Township with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 29-27, 29-27.

Hayden Ackley and Isaiah Sibbitt were among the main playmakers for Cumberland Valley as the former had 27 digs and two assists and the latter had three aces and one block. Sibbitt has been hot for a while, having also posted 24 or more assists the last 26 times he's played. Avery Reynolds also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Central Dauphin got the win against Central Dauphin East on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Central Dauphin walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-13, 25-21, 25-21.

Cumberland Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Central Dauphin, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Cumberland Valley took their win against Central Dauphin in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
