Softball Game Preview: Bayside Bears vs. Cocoa Tigers

Bayside is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Cocoa a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Bayside Bears will look to defend their home field against the Cocoa Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Bayside managed to slip by Sebastian River the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bears came up short against the Sharks on Thursday, falling 14-5.

HALEIGH CURRY was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another player making a difference was MO'NAE WALLACE, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cocoa's offense. They lost 15-0 to Merritt Island last Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Cocoa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bayside, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-8.

Cocoa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bayside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. It's a different story for Cocoa, though, as they've only averaged .250. Will they be able to contain Bayside's hitters?

Everything went Bayside's way against Cocoa when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Bayside made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
