Softball Recap: King's Academy Knights vs. San Mateo Bearcats
King's Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt San Mateo on Tuesday. The Knights blew past the Bearcats 6-0. The Knights not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11th (when they won 11-0).
Not much got past Katia Nesper, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep San Mateo off the board. Nesper has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Thompson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Sophie Giles was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
