After a string of six wins, Huntsville's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 8-5 to the Sparkman Senators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Steven Cavaco was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Josh Knight was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Huntsville's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-16. As for Sparkman, their win bumped their record up to 15-19.

While Huntsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
