Volleyball Recap: Kankakee Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Kankakee Valley can bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hobart Brickies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Kankakee Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-20.

Avery Diener paced Kankakee Valley's offense, picking up 23 kills. Diener got some help from Gabrielle Diener and her 50 assists. Gabrielle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Kankakee Valley's win bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Hobart, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-17.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Kankakee Valley and Illiana Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hobart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
