Baseball Recap: Foundation Christian Academy Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Foundation Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Grace Christian Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Caleb Hom was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabe Messing, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. Rory Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-4.

Foundation Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian only posted a batting average of .200.

Foundation Christian Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
