Softball Game Preview: White Mountains Spartans vs. Bishop Brady Giants

The White Mountains Spartans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Bishop Brady Giants at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

White Mountains fell victim to Gilford and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 12-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Four must be Bishop Brady's lucky number: they beat Gilford with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Giants beat the Golden Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-1. Winning may never get old, but the Giants sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Payton Bryson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Brady's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Archambault, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Bishop Brady's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for White Mountains, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

White Mountains might still be hurting after the 20-0 defeat they got from Bishop Brady in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
