Softball Recap: Bear River Now 23-1 over Last 24 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bear River walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Payson Lions a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.

Bear River got a great performance from Kate Wilson as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Wilson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luci Roche was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Fry, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bear River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Payson only posted an OBP of .000.

Bear River has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 23 of their last 24 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Payson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 22-7 record.

Bear River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Payson, they will take on Ridgeline at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
