The Elsinore Tigers will challenge the West Valley Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elsinore's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so West Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Elsinore is returning to their home field after beating Temescal Canyon on theirs, despite the fact Temescal Canyon has dominated at home this season. The Tigers came out on top against the Titans by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday.
Andrew Jimenez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Brayden Stankus tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryson Boyd, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, West Valley got the win against United Christian Academy on Saturday by a conclusive 14-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Like Elsinore, West Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Vincent Figueroa. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Figueroa posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Aiden Juarez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. West Valley is undefeated when Juarez posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise.
West Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Elsinore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for West Valley, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
Elsinore was able to grind out a solid victory over West Valley in their previous matchup back in April, winning 8-4. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
