Basketball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

Edison played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Seguin Matadors, falling 65-38. The Golden Bears have struggled against the Matadors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seguin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jay Menchaca, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Menchaca a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tavien Miles, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Seguin, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-9.

Coincidentally, Edison and Seguin will both be playing Highlands the next time they take the court. The Matadors will head out to face the Owls at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Golden Bears will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
