Baseball Recap: St. James Saints vs. Flint Hill Huskies

St. James and Flint Hill squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but St. James had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Flint Hill Huskies by a score of 6-5. St. James has not had much luck with Flint Hill recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

For Flint Hill's part, they got a great performance from Michael Morgan as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Morgan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Flint Hill let Vincenzo Fiorino and Ben Meeks loose on the outfield. Fiorino went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a double, while Meeks scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Meeks has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

St. James' defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Flint Hill, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-12.

St. James will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Kiski School at 2:00 p.m. Flint Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
