Softball Game Preview: Carlmont Scots vs. Burlingame Panthers

The Carlmont Scots will challenge the Burlingame Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carlmont is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Carlmont fell victim to King's Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Jordyn Sbragia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

Meanwhile, Burlingame hadn't done well against Hillsdale recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers never let the Fighting Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Samantha Arce was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Carlmont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Burlingame, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Everything went Carlmont's way against Burlingame when the teams last played back in March, as Carlmont made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Scots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
