Soccer Game Preview: Grant vs. Cleveland

The Grant Generals will head out to take on the Cleveland Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grant will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Grant's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against McDaniel by a score of 2-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Grant's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while McDaniel are ranked 64th).

Cleveland hadn't beaten Franklin on the road since September 25, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Quakers with a sharp 3-0 victory. Cleveland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by three goals or more this season.

Cleveland's win bumped their record up to 7-2-4. As for Grant, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2-1.

Grant beat Cleveland by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
