Soccer Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the La Crosse Central Riverhawks, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Sparta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 179th, while La Crosse Central are ranked 44th).

Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for La Crosse Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1-2.

Looking ahead, Sparta will take on Menomonie at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for La Crosse Central, they will square off against Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
