It was a good run, but Norwalk unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 5-2 to the Trumbull Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.
Maddie Collins was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. Collins was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Norwalk's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Trumbull, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
As of now, neither Norwalk nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
