Volleyball Recap: Macksville Takes a Loss

Macksville lost against St. John back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-6.

Heidy Ortiz paced Macksville's offense, picking up four kills. Ortiz got some help from Anilu Hernandez and her nine assists. Hernandez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Macksville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for St. John, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Macksville is set to square off against their familiar foe Chase on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. John will take on rival Otis-Bison on Tuesday.
