Basketball Recap: Pinellas Park Comes Up Short

Pinellas Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 67-46 to the Seminole Warhawks. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 62-37 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Seminole's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubrey Close led the charge by going 9 of 18 on her way to 21 points and three steals. Close is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Fekollari, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 18 points and six rebounds.

Pinellas Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Seminole, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Pinellas Park will welcome Calvary Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Seminole, they will venture away from home to face off against East Lake at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
