The West Cabarrus Wolverines will face off against the South Iredell Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
West Cabarrus came up short against Lake Norman last Friday, falling 20-4. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Cadyn Ready was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Calynn Yandle also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, South Iredell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-9 to Alexander Central. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly seven runs.
Addi Myers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Haines, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Even though they lost, South Iredell lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
South Iredell now has a losing record of 3-4. As for West Cabarrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. West Cabarrus hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like South Iredell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
