Basketball Recap: Selma Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Selma extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Tristin Blocton. The Selma Saints walked away with a 75-68 victory over the Dallas County Hornets on Friday thanks in part to Blocton, who posted 23 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Dallas County lost, don't look at Joshua Davis III. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 35 points and ten rebounds. Davis III is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Carter, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points.

Selma's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Dallas County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Selma wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-30 victory against Southside on the 14th. Dallas County has also already played their next game, a 66-48 win against Thorsby on the 9th.
