Softball Recap: East Liverpool Comes Up Short

East Liverpool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-15 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chaney Cowboys. Even if the Potters couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Trinity Pearson led a balanced group of hitters, going 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Addie Jones was another key player, going 3-for-6 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

East Liverpool's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Chaney, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

East Liverpool will take on Carrollton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Potters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Chaney, they will square off against McKinley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
