Softball Recap: Elberta Comes Up Short

Elberta fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Foley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-6. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Lynleigh May was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Macy Smith was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Elberta's loss dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Foley, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-17.

Looking ahead, Elberta will welcome Rain at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.23 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. Foley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
