Basketball Recap: Bethany Community Takes a Loss

Bethany Community lost against Bishop McGuinness back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bethany Community Wolves took a blow against the Bishop McGuinness Villains, falling 65-24. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Villains are ranked 12th).

It was another big night for Adelaide Jernigan, who went 10 for 23 on her way to 27 points and six rebounds for Bishop McGuinness. The match was Jernigan's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Sullivan, who posted nine points.

Bethany Community now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Bishop McGuinness, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Bethany Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-39 win against Clover Garden School on the 8th. As for Bishop McGuinness, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
