St. Pius X came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Oakville Tigers. This was payback for the Lancers, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

St. Pius X had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.

Reece Archer paced St. Pius X's offense, picking up 18 kills. Archer got some help from Manny Verzola and his 42 assists. Verzola also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Kyle Gartner, racking up three apiece.

St. Pius X's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Oakville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

St. Pius X didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Parkway South on the 5th. As for Oakville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Lafayette on the 5th.
