Baseball Recap: Hendersonville Find Success

While Hendersonville's win against Polk County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bearcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wolverines 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-6 back in March.

Hendersonville got a great performance from Ethan Milner as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Milner is becoming a predictor of the Bearcats' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 4-8 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on David Castillo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Hendersonville's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Polk County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hendersonville will host East Henderson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Polk County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Patton at 6:30 p.m. The Wolverines are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
