Basketball Game Preview: Austin Packers vs. Mayo Spartans

The Austin Packers will challenge the Mayo Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Austin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mayo likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Austin earned a 64-51 win over Minneapolis South. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for the Packers this season.

Meanwhile, Mayo unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by Tartan and fell 82-46. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mayo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Austin, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Austin was able to grind out a solid win over Mayo when the teams last played back in February, winning 68-59. Will Austin repeat their success, or does Mayo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
