Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mortimer Jordan). They escaped with a win on Friday against the Cullman Bearcats by the margin of a single free throw, 75-74. The win was all the more spectacular given the Blue Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Bearcats are ranked tenth).

With the victory, Mortimer Jordan broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-14. As for Cullman, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mortimer Jordan will face off against Chelsea at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cullman, they will welcome Jasper at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
