Trico scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 64-55 to the New Athens Yellow Jackets. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 244th).

Trico's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for New Athens, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trico will take on Zeigler-Royalton in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Athens and Dupo will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
