Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Oakland-Craig's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Oakland-Craig unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears by a score of 3-2. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Oakland-Craig sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-6.

Briar Ray paced Oakland-Craig's offense, picking up 27 kills. Ray got some help from Mia Thomsen and her 45 assists. Ray was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Oakland-Craig's loss dropped their record down to 27-7. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 30-3.

Oakland-Craig does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they will be playing at home against Stanton on Saturday.
