Basketball Recap: Riverside Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Treynor, Riverside was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They escaped with a win against the Shenandoah Mustangs by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Riverside's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Shenandoah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will face off against Sidney on Monday. Sidney knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Riverside likes a good challenge. As for Shenandoah, they will square off against Clarinda on Monday. Shenandoah is facing Clarinda at the right time seeing as Clarinda is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
